Durham University and Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust Joint Special Interest Group for Psychosis is open to all staff working in either the Trust or University.  However, it will be of particular interest to those staff working in ‘psychosis services’ or who are involved in research within the field. A warm welcome is also extended to any service users who would like to attend. The group meets on a regular basis to discuss a wide range of topics and speakers.

The next meeting, featuring a presentation by Dr Angela Kennedy on ‘Compassion Focused Therapy and Psychosis’, will be held on Wednesday March 27th 2013 from 5.30 – 7PM in the Holgate Room, Grey College, Durham University (8 on this map).

Angela has worked in the NHS since 1990, and qualified as a clinical psychologist in 1994 from Newcastle University. She is employed by the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, and leads a Trust-wide tertiary psychosis team. Angela has many years experience working with complex trauma and dissociation, and is developing Compassion Focused Therapy for people with lived experiences of dissociative conditions and/or treatment resistant psychosis.
